Great match. Sehwag blasted the Banglas and redeemed us for the 2007 fiasco

San Diego Cricket Association - Game 1 vs SDSU

San Diego Cricket Association
We won the toss and elected to field. They started off very aggressively on a fast outfield. Average scores on CSP1 has
been around 170 this season (and 218 being highest), so we knew there was a big target in store but I expected more pressure
on them from our excellent bowling lineup. Overall, we did not bowl up to our potential with plenty of boundary balls. Sampath, Ashish, SidS and Boopathi bowled well in patches. They played very well too since they had a big batting lineup and could slog from the first over. They got 179/20 overs. Satish Mani kept very well.
On the batting front, we did very well with most batsmen contributing and playing disciplined innings. We went in
with lots of bowlers and few batsmen, but I was happy with the way we chased. Rahul and Amit got us to a good start
of 40 in 7 overs. SidK played with the middle order and it was 110 after 16 overs with still a slight chance of taking it
home. Mansoor then went berserk and hit cleanly to bring us within 20 runs.

San Diego Cricket Association - Game 2 vs Strikers

San Diego Cricket Association - Game 3 vs Gladiators

Again we won the toss and decided to field because the outfield and mat were both wet.
We did not start well with the bowling with Sampath's swing costing him a few wides.
Then, Gopal started pinch-hitting and hit Amit for a few in his first over. They reached 75 odd in the first 10 with no wickets lost.
The second half, we clawed back with Rahul and Bhoopati taking key wickets of Hafeez and Ashraf.
Gopal was runout by a direct hit from SidK. Then, Anees and others could not force the runrate and they posted only 127.

We lost 4-5 quick wickets initially and were in direstraits. SidK and Ram put on a partnership and steadied things. We were 63 after 10 overs. Sidk chased a wide ball soon after and was out for 34.
Still needing 60 odd, Moghe played well and took us within reach. We folded for 111 with 2 overs to spare.

San Diego Cricket Association - Game 4 vs MMSL

San Diego Cricket Association
This was the only game we did not put up a good fight. They batted first and opening
bowlers had them at 42 after 10 overs for 4-5 wkts. Their whole top order was gone, but Achal played
through, taking lots of singles and twos and they ended up scoring 100 runs in the last 10 overs (similar
to the Strikers game).

142 was always going be a stiff target in HG with the spongy wicket and thick outfield. There were
3 scores of 13 in our total of 87, but no notable contributions.

San Diego Cricket Association - Game 5 vs Vintage

San Diego Cricket Association

We lost the toss for the first time this season and were put into bat on a damp wicket and outfield. It had been raining the past 2 days. It was an afternoon game and the sun dried up the outfield a but the runup needed lots of sawdust and sand.
We started miserably with Mutesa getting a roller from Lyndon first ball. Rahul and Moghe played sensibly until Rahul was caught on long off after not timing a hit.
Sid and Moghe steadied things and saw through Raj Ghai, who was bowling spot on. SidK then went after the spinners, mainly Rocky Singh - but going was tough with the slow outfield.
Ashish got out stumped and then SidK went to a swing in the 16th over to Ram M. The keeper clipped the bails or it was bowled, no one was sure. SidK walked, but it was probably not out since neither umpire was sure what happened.
After that, the batting collapsed but for some but hits by Bhoopati, who came back into form with this innings. We folded for 101 all out.

We bowled well in the first 10 overs keeping Vintage to 52 and got Hari out too to a fine catch by Rahul. Sid S and Sampath bowled well. But the target was not a stiff ask and we could not put pressure on them especially when Ghai and Lyndon started hitting after the break. They got there in ~15 overs.
